Senior Diego Ruis got the exciting news on Friday, December 9, that he had been accepted into Stanford. However, this did not come easy to Ruis, with hours of hard work and dedication towards his school work and grades, he finally achieved his goal since freshman year of high school.

Ruis applied to Stanford in November during the early application process so he would have a better chance in getting accepted into Stanford.

Not only did Ruis get the exciting news of getting accepted into Stanford but he also had the honor of attending the Colorado Associations of School Boards meeting. At this meeting Ruis listened to several key note speakers and went to workshops that talked about education excelling in the future.

Out of the several students that attended, Ruis was one out of six students chosen to be put up on the stage and talk about his perspective towards the schools and what is going on in classrooms. “I’d like to thank the school board president because he helped me a lot during my process in applying for Stanford,” Ruis said.
