Over Spring Break, the Greeley West marching band, orchestra, and choir traveled to Florida to perform music at Disney Springs, which is part of Disney World.

This was not a completion like the Poms participate in, it was a time to showcase the music that they had been working on throughout the school year.

The three groups practiced at the venue before their performance, but played just one time in public.

Mr. Chet Arthur, who is the director of the band, explained all the different aspects of the trip.  The marching band marched in the parade at the Magic Kingdom, while the orchestra performed at Disney Springs.  The choir performed at the same spot.

While the groups weren’t performing, the three groups went to an educational work out together.

The trip wasn’t all business, as the members got to experience Florida and Disney World rides.  It seemed like all the members enjoyed the trip. It also created new friendships. Sophomore Taylor Rivera said, “I liked how the trip created new friendships, also the food was great along with the different rides at different parks.”

Many members of the musical groups were accompanied by members of their family, which made the experience even more fun for the students.
