Baseball team gets first league win

Greeley West baseball played Boulder at home on Tuesday April 11.

This game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Greeley West scored four runs. The Next two innings would also be scoreless so West Beat Boulder with a final score four to zero. Cedric Corrales lead the Spartans by pitching a one hitter. Greeley West had five hits which was a total of six hits throughout the game. In the fifth inning, Drew Mendez punched in a three RBI double to left field. This put the Spartans up and helped them score their four running inning.

Junior pitcher Cedric Corrales stated, β€œIt was great to get our first conference win. It was a team effort and we all came together to get the win.”

Cedric had the game of his life and he had something to say about his one hitter, β€œI just felt relaxed on the mound and thought about the next pitch.”

Greeley West will travel to Monarch on Saturday April 15 at 11 am. Monarch has a record of 3-6 overall and they are 1-2 in league. Greeley West is 3-7 overall and 1-2 in league.
