Erika Ruvalcaba is a 13 year old freshman born in Fort Morgan, but originally from Guatemala. She lived in Colorado for her first eight years of life, then her family decided to move back to her country for five years. She came back this year to finish school in Greeley. And have a better life.

What she most likes about being a student at Greeley West High School is that almost every teacher can speak Spanish and help her out when she needs something. She plans to graduate with really good grades and go to college but she hasn’t decided what she wants to have as a career.

She was very excited about watching the eclipse during 4th period on the first day of school because she believes that it was an unforgettable experience and better than staying inside taking classes and doing assignments.

“I liked going out to watch the eclipse because it’s a once in a lifetime experience,” Ruvalcaba said.

Some interesting facts about Ruvalcaba is that she likes to play all kinds of sports and enjoys going out for a walk when she is not in school. Her favorite type of music is Reggaeton and her least favorite class is Health.

She plans to stay in the United States and start a new life here in the company of her family.
