On October 22, the Greeley West  FFA officers and national environmental team accompanied by advisors Kelly Longacre and Samantha Maxwell headed off to nationals.

Nationals is a gathering of 64,000 students from all 50 states that assemble to celebrate all of this years accomplishments over 3 days. Greeley West had 12 school representatives including eight officers and four members of the environmental team. The environmental team having already placed at the state level competed for two out of the three days from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  These FFA members include Kiana Escobar, Brandon Ibarra, Bryce Ewing, and Zulica Vizcaino.

As for the other officers they attended keynote speakers, leadership workshops, a college fair and a football field sized career fair. FFA will be representing the national chapter award based on their community service, commitment to local leadership, development of students, and their agricultural advocacy.

The FFA team has also taken the time to explore the south with two college tours, visiting the sky observation deck, and visiting the Russell Stover Chocolate Factor. Although this is only some of their stops not including Nationals in Indianapolis, the kids had an event-packed week.
Officer Ashely Dhooge says that, ” I’m going to be in a car with my advisors for 18 hours and I’m pretty excited to see where we go.”
Advisor Kelly Longacre say he is excited because,” this is an exciting trip because being in a auditorium with thousands of kids cheering about leadership gets me excited, it rejuvenates me.”
