Over 40 college representatives, both public and private, were invited to sell their school at Greeley West on Monday October 30. Colleges like the South Dakota School of Mines, University of Oklahoma, and a little bit closer to home, UNC and CSU were there. This is not the first time West has hosted a huge fair; there is a rotation of schools who participate to host. Greeley West students weren’t the only ones to attend either, as local schools like Eaton and Early College Academy were there too.

College fairs are a great way to get new information on potential schools. Students usually write their email and name down and hand the information to the representative. This year the fair was organized though the Colorado Council and a new innovative way was introduced to students to share information with colleges. Students were given a bar code, the code was scanned by the representative and schools had the information needed.

Juniors and seniors left second and third hour with teacher permission to go to the college fair. Junior Belle Whitmore said the college fair was, “eye-opening to the tons of schools in Colorado and to the smaller schools no one really pays attention to.”
