On Wednesday, November 1, Greeley West had their second parent/teacher conferences. This time Ms. Brenda Guzman’s catering classes set up a taco bar for the teachers and administration before their long night ahead.

On Tuesday, the sixth period class used their time to cut up the vegetables while the seventh hour class cut the 15 pounds of chicken and the 15 pounds of beef.

Along with the taco bar, the teachers and administration were given cupcakes topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. The cupcakes were prepared by the classes as well.

During 7th hour, on Wednesday, the students set up the taco bar and two students stayed to serve the teachers and administration until about 4:00 p.m. Junior Devine Guzman, a catering student, stated, “It was really fun preparing the food for our staff. I like working under pressure so this was a really exciting project for me.”

Guzman is trying to teach her catering classes how to work under pressure and meet deadlines on time all while making good food for a big group. Throughout the year, Guzman’s different hours of catering classes will be picking up different projects for the school throughout the year. The taco bar for the parent/teacher conferences was just the beginning.
