STANDD club hosts clothing drive

At Greeley West High School STANDD Club is standing to help people in need of clothes.

STANDD is a diversity club that brings students together. STANDD is an acronym for ‘Students Taking A New Direction in Diversity’ club. “Members of Greeley West STANDD for pride and diversity” is the clubs saying.

The clothing drive is a community service project that will be provided to the Family of Christ Presbyterian Church in Greeley. All clothing that gets collected will be given to the church. The church will then give the clothing to a community house.

Another member of the STANDD club is senior, Luaro Juarez, who is a second year member. “I think that it is good were giving back to the community as a school,” said Juarez.

Juarez came up with the idea of doing the clothing drive as a community service project.

Senior Christi Frierson said, “I think this will be a great community service project. It will help with a lot of people in Greeley who are not able to buy clothes for the upcoming season.”

The clothing drive is occurring this week. Take any clothing item into homeroom and the clothes will be collected and taken to the church.
