On Monday, Greeley West High School’s National Honor Society inducted its new members during its yearly ceremony held in the auditorium. The ceremony was held at 7 p.m. and was led by the chapter’s advisor, Mr. Peter Jakus and chapter president Samuel Diaz.

Jakus started off by naming off all 31 inductees who were: Victoria Alvarado-Rocha, Janette Arostegui, Megan Battleson, Kathryn Broderius, Gracejit Chahal, Allison Dunn, Antonio Graham, Genesis Hernandez Garcia, Kinsley Mahan, Oscar Perez Luna, Angelina Ramirez, Kali Richardson, Madison Schneider, Megan Starkey, Maria Villagomez, Grace Whyrick, Jaden Armstrong, Elias Gonzales-Barraza, Abdihalim-Asad Bihi, Valeria Casillas, Ashley Cullen, Trey Flores, Drake Holdren, Karla Ibarra-Ruiz, Colin Mckee, Reina Plate, Allison Rath, Kendra Roth, Mariah Serna, Breanna Tran, and Bridgett Vincent.

That was then followed by Samuel Diaz’s opening remarks. The four qualities of National Honor Society Members were then given by the officers; Elise Johnson, Jennifer Sample, Kaitlin Gorsline, and Peyton Book. They read off the quality and then lit the candle relating to the quality that they read. Jakus then followed that up by an address to the inductees and then the inductees read off the society pledge with a candle in their hand. Principal Mr. Cranson then gave his congratulatory remarks to the inductees and Samuel Diaz closed off the ceremony.
