Mr. Ryan pace instructs sophomore Abrianna Vail on Tuesday.
America’s Favorite Teacher is a contest that helps celebrate an “unsung hero.” Well, there is an unsung hero here at Greeley West named Mr. Ryan Pace.
This contest is going on until March 6th and Pace is a representative for the community after being nominated by an unknown student. “It was an honor to be nominated for this,” Pace said. “When I heard about it, I wasn’t going to make it a big deal but my wife pushed me to tell others.”
Pace wasn’t always a teacher, when he first started his career he was in Finance but, “something was missing. I was coaching tennis at the time and loved it. Eventually I decided that helping young people on their journey was the most impactful thing that I could do,” Pace explained.
Pace has a specific class he has made a connection to. “My AVID class is one that impacted me; they’re some that have made my teaching experience so far memorable,” Pace said.
Madison Vella is a senior who has had Pace for the past four years in AVID. She’s enjoyed her experience in his class because, “even though I’ve never had him for another class other than AVID he’s a teacher I know I can go to,” Vella stated.
According to Vella,“ (Pace) has not only helped me academically but he is also a teacher who enlightens his students and has supported me.”
Principal Jeff Cranson is happy Pace was nominated. “Pace is a good representative of a teacher, he works well with the students along with being a good coach,” Falter said.
