Greeley West’s boys’ soccer stayed strong during last night’s game, defeating Rocky Mountain after taking a tough loss to, 1-0 earlier in the week.  The win against Rocky marked West’s first 5A victory in a decade.

Junior Kelton Boyd and junior Luis Ramos each had a goal and there were seven remarkable saves by sophomore goalie Jose Salazar.  West won the game 2-0.

The Spartans are still missing some key players on the field due to red cards and having to make those temporary adjustments that could set them back.  But the team is still determined to improve upon their 3-1 start.

“Without a couple of our good players in the game because of red cards kind of put the team down at first, but with some captains stepping up holding the team together, we were able to pull through,” midfielder Boyd explained

“It was a great experience; the whole team was exited and pumped after the game,” Boyd said.
