Students who graduate early should be celebrated, not questioned
October 5, 2016
Many students every year want to graduate early to get out of high school or to get to college early. Graduating early is something that students should be able to do. The students that want to graduate early have reasons to and work hard to do it. Some of the students just hate high school and need to get out or they don’t play sports and just want to get on to college. They should be celebrated for that.
The controversial thing is that parents and teacher don’t think students are getting the whole high school experience. People also think they aren’t learning enough and not getting prepared enough for college. The statements don’t make a lot of sense for some reasons.
The students might not get the full high school experience, but they’re graduating early to get away from high school. They hate the schools and just need to get out. If they’re forced to stay in, then they’re just going to get through it and still not enjoy it. Then people that think they need to stay in high school because they won’t be prepared enough? Well they’ll take all eight classes in the semester and they’re all be core classes to get the credits they need. If they’re staying in they could have off blocks and TA’s which will be about the same as just getting it done early.
All in all, students should be able to graduate early if they want too. They have reasons why they want to get out of high school and they should be allowed that opportunity without being questioned.
