Parent-teacher conferences are tonight
November 2, 2016
Parent-teacher conferences will be held tonight from 4 – 8 p.m. Conferences are held twice every semester. This is the last time parent-teacher conferences will be held this year.
Parents are encouraged to attend conferences regardless of whether their student is doing well or may be struggling in their classes.
Although conferences are usually thought to only be attended by parents of students who are struggling in school, they are still a great chance for even the students with good grades to receive praise from their teachers or improve even more in class.
“I always attend conferences with my parents because I love hearing all the great things my teachers have to say about me,” stated Junior Alex Valverde.
“If students are struggling in certain classes, conferences are a great way for them to talk with their teachers about what they can do to raise their grade and figure out a plan,” he added.
During conferences, parents are able to meet their students’ teachers and see where their child is spending their days. Parents can ask questions about their student’s grades, class curriculum, or just meet the teachers who are teaching their child.
Overall, conferences are an opportunity for students and parents to meet with their teachers if they have any questions, concerns, or want to become more informed and involved in their students’ academics.
