Football team looks ahead to conference championship

The Greeley West Spartans have added yet another win to their record last Saturday after dominating the Niwot cougars at D6 Stadium. West proved their dominance by beating the Cougars, 54-7.

Niwot was first on the board on their first drive and went up 7-0. However, the Spartan offense and defense blew up and started the dominating game. West had 231 passing yards and 284 rushing yards. While the Spartans defense was a brick wall, by only allowing one touchdown in the first quarter.

Freshman Aaron Rojas was excited after the dominate win, “It felt really good to get a big win and have that lead us into next week’s game,” said Rojas. “Oh yeah, this game definitely prepared us mentally for Loveland.”

Rojas also threw his first varsity touchdown pass as well, “It was an awesome feeling, it was a moment that I’ll never forget.”

West will have one if their biggest games this week as they take on the Loveland Indians at Thompson Valley High School at 7 p.m. this Friday night.
