Angel Tree gifts collected by homerooms
November 22, 2016
Key Club has started their Angel Tree initiative with The Salvation Army. This is where staff member and students have the chance in sponsoring children who could be anywhere between babies to 12 years old.
Many homerooms are getting involved with the project. Each homeroom involved get to purchase gifts or clothing for the child. Last year Greeley West sponsored 75 children in need and this year they are sponsoring 95.
IB are one of the group that is involved in the project. They are sponsoring two children by having a little friendly competition between upperclassmen and underclassmen. Underclassmen are responsible for a little girl. She likes Barbies and is in need of a winter coat. Upperclassmen are responsible for a 11-year-old boy with special needs that would love some new toys.
IB Coordinator Marie Beach said, “I think it’s an amazing opportunity for kids to give to other kids.”
