Middle school students join Spartans in community event

Last Wednesday the International Baccalaureate program at West hosted its annual IB Showcase. What IB Showcase essentially is a night where students in the program demonstrate growth in personal development through a project of some sort which can be educationally, scientifically, or even philosophically.
The students that were there consisted of middle schoolers all the way through high school seniors. This night was the chance for IB middle schoolers from Brentwood to visit, MYP sophomores to showcase their personal project, IB juniors to exhibit their 4H science project, and for IB seniors to unveil their Theory of Knowledge presentation.
The IB Showcase had been in planning for quite a while now. Juniors Katie Gorsline, Isael Ramirez, and Cassie Bradshaw worked many days for a total of up to 12 hours to conduct their 4H science project.
“It was stressful since it was a part of a science grade but it was very fun along the way and I know it will be rewarding,” stated Ramirez.
What makes the IB Showcase so special is, “The fact that students from across grade levels can just come together and be proud of each other’s accomplishment in every facet of life,” stated Gorsline.
