Juniors begin ZAP program to improve SAT scores
January 30, 2017
Greeley West High School administration are providing a great opportunity for all juniors to be prepared for their SAT tests this April. Every Wednesday leading up to the big test day, juniors are taking different practice tests during homeroom.
The superintendent of the district as well as principal Mr. Jeff Cranson have paid for and approved a program called “ZAP.” This is a nationwide program that would normally cost a couple hundred dollars per student. Numerous amounts of juniors nationally have seen phenomenal improvements with using only the ZAP program.
On February 8, all Greeley West juniors are taking an in-school field trip. Six teachers have been trained for the SAT ZAP program and have learned the most beneficial tips to improving test scores.
Last year’s ACT scores were lower than the district average in Weld County and the state’s average. “I hope by carrying out this program, it will raise our scores, so it will open doors for students for colleges and I hope students will take this testing more seriously,” stated Cranson.
This program gives students an opportunity to know where they are at, and give them time to improve their scores for the actual test.
