GDubs Cafe remains closed. The new opening date will be Friday.

Tuesday was supposed to be the day that Greeley West students would be able to buy their coffee and smoothies on campus at the newly remodeled GDubs Café.  Instead, students who showed up were greeted by closed doors.

Business student Makenzie Foley, a sophomore, explained that the class wasn’t ready to open the store.

When working on getting everything ready for the opening of the café, students involved realized they weren’t prepared for opening day. They didn’t have the equipment needed to open for a successful day and didn’t get their training day in for the staff members.

The café is partnered up with District 6’s Nutrition Services. They were supposed to help with dialing the coffee machine, but it wasn’t done before Tuesday leaving them with no way to make coffee. Today people working at the café will start training so they know how to work the machines and assist the students. This was supposed to happen last week but didn’t due to lack of key materials.

The café’s new opening day is now scheduled for Friday.  They will be serving coffee, tea, and snacks. They will be opened in the morning before school and during lunch. They also hope to be able to serve at sports games as well.

Their motto will be “Serving diversity in every cup of GDubs.”
