Junior jumps right into cheerleading, theater

Not only are their new freshmen at Greeley West this year, there are new Spartans all around the crowded school, including upperclassmen and teachers. Among the new faces is Alondra Alamos, a new junior who, not only is new to West, but new to Greeley as a city.
Alamos moved here from Las Cruces, New Mexico and is already blending into West by trying out for cheerleading and being in the theater program.
Like most students at West, Alamos already knows the struggle of going from class to class through the hub. “Yeah, the hub is crazy. I dropped a pencil once and I didn’t even try to get it back. I knew I would never see that pencil again,” Alamos said.
The hub isn’t the only astonishing thing to Alamos; she also says she was, “shocked by the amount of people who walk the halls of West.”
Other than the insanity of the hub and the abundance of students, Alamos is excited to be a new Spartan. West is also overcoming some rumors that Alamos heard when coming into the new school. She was informed that only, “white people attend West. But I’m so surprised because I have met new people with different races and it’s so cool,” Alamos said.

The first time I stepped on my prestigious school Greeley west high school, I fell deeply in love. With each step I took on the classic compound, i have been different schools in my life, i have never seen such nemours school with disciplined students and the most veteran teachers, it was indeed my first time to seat before a veteran teacher.I really liked the people i have met at my school, they really made a huge impact on my me.I know that these are the people that I will stay friends with long after high high school is done
It isn’t just my school. It is absolutely my home away from home. I feel so comfortable there and it was as hard of an adjustment as I had thought it would be.
I adore my high school “GWHS”
