Homecoming royalty candidates announced
October 9, 2017
After a week of voting for nominees, we have the finalists for Homecoming royalty. Usually there are three candidates for each class, but this year there a couple of instances where there were ties for the final spot. The sophomore boys and senior girls both have four nominees
The freshmen girl candidates are Chloe Jobb, Gabriella Guzman, and Mira Pena. They will be escorted at the football game by freshman boys who are Blaine Cullen, Jacob Evans, and Seth Rael.
The sophomore girl candidates are Reina Plate, Kimmy Ordonez, and Myra Cerrillo-Ramierez. They will be escorted by Carter Bruning, Wyatt Sands, Aaron Rojas, and Rodrigo Perez. This is an instance where there are four boys to three girls. This means at the game one girl will walk with two boys.
The junior girl candidates are Marie Varela, Beatriz Saenz, and Haylie Juhl. They will be escorted by Cruz Llamas, Reyes Perches, and Jackson Morgan.
The senior girl candidates are Peyton Book, Anna Whyrick, Adria Coghlin, and Christie Frierson. They will be escorted by Oscar Flores, Sam Diaz, and Alfredo Verdugo. This is another instance where one boy will walk with two girls and the football game.
Coghlin stated, “I was surprised I got to be a candidate for the senior class. I think it’ll be a cool experience to be able to walk on the field at halftime and maybe win the Homecoming Queen.”
West students can vote for all of these candidates at Greeley West’s website with a student ID and school email.
