The Greeley West Poms team goes to a camp in the summer every year to qualify for nationals. This year they were able to qualify for nationals once again. The Poms had to wait to go to Nationals, which is held in Florida, until now. They left on Wednesday, January 31 for their competition on Sunday, February 3rd and 4th.  Although this trip is primary to compete at nationals, they get to have some fun too.

In their free time, the Poms get to visit some of the theme Parks in Florida. They mostly go to all of the Disney ones, which includes the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and the Disney Studios, where movies are made. In addition, the Poms will be doing a lot of shopping.

“We mostly practice so it’s hard to do all of the funs things Florida offers,” senior Peyton Book stated. “There is a lot of amazing competition here so we need to prepare as much as possible to get into the finals.”

The Poms also make sure they have everything leading up to competition day. This consists of getting ready, performing, announcements, and getting into finals the following day.
