On Monday, the National Honor Society put on a blood drive. This gave student a chance to give their blood to people in need. The National Honor Society puts on a blood drive each semester.

This semester, NHS got more than 30 students to come out and donate for people in need. The blood drive went on all day in the wrestling room.  The Students donating had to be at least 16 years old. Most students donated one pint of blood and that is all they can donate for certain periods of time.

Lara Austin has a purpose for donating. “There are so many people out there who need blood and I have blood to give so why wouldn’t I donate? I also have O- blood which is the universal blood so I feel it is extremely important for me to give my blood. I have always wanted to do donate and I love doing it.”

This was Austin’s second time donating this year.

Another student who donated was Arturo Hernandez. Hernandez stated, “Giving blood is a very important thing to do. If you’re able to give blood you should. It goes to such a good thing and it is rewarding doing it.”
