Costumes were abundant at West

The Greeley West principals pulled off the faces of Will Ferrell.

Greeley West students and staff celebrated Halloween on Thursday with multiple costume contests for students and staff.

Teachers walked around the commons at lunch, raising money for Key Club in their costumes. The winners of this year’s contests were announced at the end of the day.  For the first time in a long time, the English Department did not win the best group costume.  Instead, the CTE classes did for their costumes for the movie Up.

Students were also impressed by the administration team, who dressed up like different Will Ferrell characters for the day.  Mr. Jeff Cranson pulled of Ron Burgundy while Ms. Amy Zulauf chose to hand out candy canes as Buddy the Elf.  Mr. Ryan Hilbig joined in as Ricky Bobby and Mr. Aaron Allen was the cowbell player from a famous Saturday Night Live skit.

For the individual contest, Mr. Ryan Walstrom won the contest as deceased wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage.

Voting happened online via a google form for the staff contest.

Students dressed up with the intentions to spook and to entertain. Those that stood out were rewarded by the Greeley West faculty throughout the day.  Teachers were provided nomination forms for students in a variety of categories.  Costumes included everything from Chucky to cows.
