When she attended Greeley West High School, alumnus Maria Geesaman was one of the top athletes when it came to cross country and track. She graduated from Greeley West in 2018 with a full ride to York College in Nebraska for cross-country.
“I am currently a junior majoring in sports management and pursuing a minor in accounting,” said Geesaman “Since being at York I’ve joined PBL which is a business club, and have earned my highest GPA ever of 3.6.”
Geesaman continues to run cross-country and track for York but has other interests aside from those. “I’m a social media rep for the cross country and track team and I have written some songs on garage band. An interesting hobby I have is coding,” Gessaman said.
As a sophomore and senior at West, Geesman qualified for state meaning she was one of the many athlete’s students lined up in the halls to cheer on and congratulate them on their achievements. Geesaman is equally proud of the battle students face today in high school. “And to West, I hope everything is going great. Stay strong, beat COVID and all for one and one for all,” Geesaman said.
