Students will finally have spaces to park starting next week

Since the school year started, there has been a limited amount of parking spaces for students, teachers, and visitors at Greeley West High School.  Many students have been complaining about the parking lots because of the limited spaces in the student lot and the church parking being too far away. Some students even started parking by the football field so they’ll be closer to the school.

With the old building being knocked down over a month ago, the construction crews made quick progress with getting the area cleaned up and now laying down pavement for the new parking lots. Next week, one of the new lots will open to students.  Senior Karime Ruiz is a student that’s been driving to school everyday and expressed her frustration and happiness all at the same time.  “Our parking is honestly garbage right now and I wish they’d let us park in more places than what we have. But I’m happy they’re getting the new parking lot finished for us,” Ruiz said.

Administration is quite happy with the progress that’s being made and thanked students for their patience.  “The north parking lot will open for students and staff to park on the 13th with the full parking lot being open on the first of November,” Principal Jeff Cranson said.

Other students that drive to school everyday have positive things to say about the progress that’s being made and are ready for parking to change in the next week. Senior Ralisha Anderson said, “I’m excited for the parking lot to be finished. It’s looking really good and big so far which will be nice for us since there’s so much traffic now with the little parking we have.”
