This year’s juniors are going to have to take the SAT test completely online, which is new to everyone. Juniors of years past have taken the test using paper and pencil, but this year that is not the case.
The students have spent the last two years practicing for the test on paper, and it suddenly changing to being online could cause struggles for people taking the test.
Junior Makai Mireles believes the test will benefit the students. “I love it. I hate paper tests because my handwriting is better. I feel like most people will do better with it online compared to if we were to do it on paper,” Mireles stated.
The SAT being online will not only be difficult for the students, but it will also be difficult for the teachers. Technical difficulties could ruin tests for many students, and this isn’t an ordinary test. The SAT is an extremely important test that could easily determine your future.
Government teacher Mr. Ky Dietz is one of the teachers that will help provide the test. “I think the test will be extremely interesting, I really hope we have no network issues. Network issues could easily ruin the SAT,” stated Dietz.
Though the SAT could easily turn sour with it being online, it could easily benefit this year’s test takers.
Senior Mariana Ortiz-Tovar is a student who took the SAT using pen and paper last year. “I think it’s going to benefit them. I heard that its going to adapt with every wrong or right answer. It’s a bit unfair, but I am just salty since I had to take it on paper last year,” Ortiz-Tovar stated. “It will definitely be easier.”
