Leadership is all around Greeley West, but there is a leader here who changes the standard: Aidan Datteri.
Datteri is a determined senior who loves involvement. He’s a part of NHS, Thespians, and Chapter President of FFA. As if that’s no enough, Datteri sells rabbits and goats that he has raised at state fairs. He’s done this since he was 7. “You show them at each fair and you have judges that select and place each animal by class,” Datteri said.
Datteri has always grown up around his grandparents’ farms which impacted him more with going to fairs and joining FFA. “I grew up hearing about FFA and have been around it my whole life. My cousin became a state officer when I was little, so it was really impactful to see someone in a leadership role of FFA,” Datteri said.
His secret to managing his busy life has been finding free time in classes during school hours.”In a way, you just have to take the little things when you can and find the enjoyment in the time when you’re busy,” Datteri said.
Ms. Tiffanie Beecher shared her thoughts on Datteri. “He has the work ethic of someone who has been working for 50 years. He’s determined, he has grit, and he never gives up,” Beecher said.
He has impacted many people in different ways around the school. “You aren’t supposed to have favorites, but I would say he has always been one of my favorites. I think he’s bright and has this fire inside of him to achieve everything,” Beecher said.
Mr. Kelly Longarcre is also one of the ones that Datteri has made an impact on from all of the agriculture classes he takes to him also being in the FFA. “He’s always done everything he’s been asked to do and he knows what he wants out of life,” Longarcre said.
FFA has always been impactful to him and you could tell by his dedication he’s had to do it for the past four years. “He’s really dedicated to being the best he could be and he pushes himself really hard in everything that he does because he wants to do his best and puts in the time and effort for that,” Longarcre said.
