The highly anticipated West vs. Central week is finally upon us, and like every year, it has been a big deal.
Spirit Week includes various days Spartans can choose to take part in to show their school spirit. Days like pjs vs workout clothes, emo vs. vsco, and Barbie day are some chosen to fill the week to raise the school’s spirit for the big game at the end of the week.
Most students chose to participate in the spirit days to show their support for West in the game, and just to have some fun
Senior Jaime Ramirez has been participating in the spirit days this past week. “I think the week is very important. It’s almost like the pride of West. The schools is more united, it really changes the feel of West,” stated Ramirez.
This week is so important to our school that the West vs. Central week even spills into the classroom. Most teachers won’t even give out homework for the weekend so students can enjoy the game and the weekend.
Student council member Yamileth Pacheco Holguin worked with her club to create spirit days to try and energize to school to support the team. “I feel like the week creates a different atmosphere for West. You can just feel the energy change in the classroom as the week arrives.” stated Pacheco Holguin.
Greeley West hopes to top off an incredible spirit week with a huge win over Central.
