A new musical is afoot. Greeley West’s Performing Arts is proud to present a murder mystery musical. The performances will begin tomorrow night, November 10th at 7:30 p.m. The next showings are November 11th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, November 12th at 2:00 p.m. All seats are reserved for $15.
The fan-favorite musical, Something’s Afoot is a murder mystery story where cruel but clever devices kill off 10 victims one by one. This story is done in all black and white to showcase a movie-like feeling that perfectly reflects the time period. Before the audience takes their seats, they are encouraged to vote on who they think the murderer is in the hallways of suspects.
The Performing Arts sponsor, Peggy Freemole, tries to make each performance feel like an experience. “There are going to be things on this stage that kill people. There are so many unexpected things are going to happen, it’s going to make the audience freak,” Freemole stated.
Performing Arts students are excited to showcase their talent and dedication. “This is the first show of its kind that this group of students have gotten to perform. We have all pushed ourselves so that we have something really great to bring to the show,” senior Maddie Zeller shared.
The actors also hope that Greeley West students will come to support their hard work. “We’ve all put in a lot of hours, whether it’s building, painting, acting, singing, et cetera. I think students will love to come to see it to support their fellow students,” Michale Makoy stated.
Ultimatey, the murder mystery is set to bring a lot of joy. “This show is just going to be such a fun show. It’s really different compared to other performances we see out of the theater, so it’ll be a surprise to the audience in the best way,” Zeller said.
