Starting off 3-0 after beating TCU in their first week might have been the worst thing that could have happened to the Colorado Buffaloes. With all of the attention that CU football has had this season you might think that they would be a bowl team, but the truth is that after starting off 3-0, they lost seven of their last eight games.
In recent news, you might have seen that CU lost two 2025 QB commits in back to back days, but just landed the number one overall tackle recruit in the nation, Jordan Seaton. Everytime I open a Tweet or the comments on Instagram, I see things such as “CU fell off.” The truth is all of those fans that were not with the Buffs when they were 1-11 can hop off the bandwagon. Coach Deion “Prime” Sanders inherited a losing program, the teams over/under for wins this year was 3.5, and in my eyes, being a die hard Buffs fan, they had a successful season. They won four games this year, more than the last two years combined.
I was not expecting much from this season, I thought if they made a bowl game that would be compared to going to a Super Bowl for me. I knew that Coach Prime was not going to be super successful this year, He wasn’t going to be like Dan Lanning taking over a winning Oregon program, or Lincoln Riley taking over a winning USC program.
The offensive line was the team’s major malfunction on offense for the Buffs this year as quarterback Sheuder Sanders was the most sacked quarterback in CFB. Getting transfer portal guard Tyler Brown back next year, who wasn’t able to play due to the NCAA transfer portal rules, will be a great help. New commit Jordan Seaton will come in and be a great help to the offensive line. New OL coach Phil Loadholt will also be a great help. All I am saying is that the Buffs will be fine next year.
Losing those QB commitments are great for the Buffs. Like Coach Prime said “A kid aint even faithful to his girlfriend. You think he gon’ be faithful to a school?” If those kids don’t want the Buffs, we don’t want them.
On the other hand, OL commit Seaton also said this: “If you claim you’re a dawg, why’re you not coming to Colorado?”
After the move to the Big 12 and transfer portal/ recruitment cycles, the Buffs will be one of the best teams in CFB. CU is on the up and up and after this season, when the Buffs make a bowl game next year, I do not want to see the fake fans hopping back on the bandwagon.
They can sit on their couch and watch as the Buffs become more and more successful year after year. So, if you bandwagoned them to start the year, stay off the bandwagon, because no one is going to be there to punch your ticket back on the bandwagon come next season.
