Ms. Naiomy Lopez’s AP Spanish is having an interesting but fun final.
Lopez’s class has the amazing opportunity to go to Salida del Sol Academy, a bilingual k-8 school in Greeley, during finals week to present their final projects to the second through fourth graders.
Students in Lopez’s class have been working on perfecting their Spanish the whole school year, and they finally have the opportunity to showcase their Spanish to other Spanish speakers.
Junior Lucyna Herrera is one of the AP Spanish students who will travel to Salida to present her project with her group. “Me and my group got tornado, so we have been working on our slides and our model. This project is kind of a breath of fresh air for this class. We have been working hard all year long, and this project is more fun than anything,” stated Herrera. “I’m excited for this presentation, but I’m honestly nervous to be presenting in front of little kids.”
The AP students have been studying various natural disasters, and they have put together detailed slides to teach the kids about their specific natural disasters.
Cherly Rodriguez, another junior in the AP Spanish class, is excited to share her new knowledge. “It’s been fun studying about tornados with my friends, and I’m honestly excited to teach the kids about and practice my Spanish,” Rodriguez stated. “ I would take this final over any other final 100% of the time. We kind of got a field trip as our final. It’s going to be extremely fun.”
Students have even created 3D models of their natural disaster to demonstrate how their natural disaster occurs.
Luckily for these students, they have an amazing final in their class. Lopez expects the final to be hit, and it most likely will.
