Greeley West has hired Mr. Ryan Knoblock as the new head coach for the Spartans girls volleyball team.
Knoblock is one of Greeley West’s talented science teachers. His inspiration to become a volleyball coach started when he was playing club volleyball in college and had friends at the time that were coaching. They pulled him in and he loved working with athletes and working together to get better ever since.
When describing his coaching philosophy Knoblock said, “Work ethic, effort, and fun are the 3 key words.”
Knoblock has had the opportunity to work with some very successful high-level college and club coaches before taking this job. He said he has learned from all of them and that some are role models that he aspires to be compared to.
Challenges are anticipated when being a coach. “There are always challenges in coaching and no prescribed responses. Every situation is different, and we need to remain adaptable,” Knoblock explained.
When approaching player development and skill improvement, Knoblock will individualize based on where the player is at on personal skills as well as with team integration.
Knoblock’s goals are for the team to become better athletes and better people every practice and every match.
When it comes to any particular strengths or qualities in players Knoblock will be looking for attitude, effort, and a team-first mentality.
