Greeley West offers tutoring and Saturday School to help students study, meet with teachers and focus more on their grades.
Offering Saturday School gives students an extra day or opportunity to increase grades and turn in assignments, especially if they are busy with work, sports, extra curricular activities or any other circumstance outside of school. Many teachers around the building sign up and stay for Saturday School to help students with assignments. This extra support is also beneficial as it offers more one-to-one support.
One of the teachers that signed up for Saturday School is Ms. Annette Schneider. She explained what Saturday School is. “Saturday School is a time for students to get help in a content area that they are struggling in, and it is a time where students can make up work like assessments and labs,” Schneider said.
Saturday School happens the first Saturday of the month.
Victor Guzman said that at Saturday School that he had got good help from the different subjects that he needed. ”I believe it could be helpful because I did get my grade up. I do think that Saturday School is somewhat useful, but I think if it’s a little different on a day you don’t have school more people would attend,” Guzman said.
Diego Cast said Saturday School interferes with his free time on his weekends. He didn’t choose to go to Saturday School to help himself. He didn’t think that Saturday School was that helpful for him so doesnt think it is good to do
Saturday is mixed for everyone. Some people see it as helpful and can impact your grade so going to it was good for them and helped with there grades so he does think going is helpful and others may think that it isn’t a good thing to go do and waste your free time over.
