Within the last month, Greeley West welcomed a new office manager, Ms. Jessica Torres Martinez.
It was at the busiest time of the year for the school when Torres Martinez heard she got her promotion to be the Office Manager. Torres Martinez started off the school year as a front office assistant and then got promoted when Ms. Sasha Cohoon took a job at the school district level.
Now, Torres Martinez will be running the front office. As an Office Manager, you work closely with the principal. Mr. Jeff Cranson stated his opinion on hiring someone new. “We’re excited to bring Jessica on board. This is a good time to finish off the school year and bring her on board during the summer to work on registration and changes for next school year,” Cranson stated.
The Office Manager contributes a lot around the school and the job is very important. “The most important part of the job is to support teachers. They run substitute teachers, support them through building use, and make sure everything is scheduled from athletic fields to other things that go on in the building,” Cranson stated.
Torres Martinez was excited to take this new job on. “It’s a lot of responsibility and pressure but I’m excited,” Martinez said.
With graduation up in a week, it’s a big job. “I’m a little nervous, but there’s a learning curve for everything. But I’m excited to help the office assistants, the principals, and set up events,” Torres Martinez said.
