Greeley West freshmen and other students who missed registration found it a bit more difficult to get a chromebook this year. This was due to the number of devices needed being miscalculated.
Students were made aware of the problem over the announcements during the first week of school. Teachers worked with students while they waited to receive their technology.
Greeley West students were informed over the summer you needed to scan your QR code to sign into your email. With the chromebook checkout issue, students were set back in regards to logins in infinite campus, schedule changes, and verifying students emails. Greeley West librarian and chromebook expert Ms. Susan Eastin Greeley West explained,” At the end of last year, we put in the number of freshmen that we had and the number of chromebooks we typically need to replace.”
However, with more damaged chromebooks than anticipated students, were not able to unlock and reset their email. This miscommunication affected not only students but teachers as well. With the office being open throughout the morning and lunches. all Greeley West students had the opportunity to replace their chromebooks.
Students have figured out the chrome book situation and thing are moving along more smoothly in regards to replacing damaged devices. “We are in a better spot now than we were three weeks ago, Eastin explained. “If students are in need of a chromebook, come up to the library. If I am not in the library, then head to the two finance ladies in the office.”
