Last week, the Greeley West boys soccer team took on the Greeley Central wildcats. This hard fought game resulted in a 3-0 loss., However hopes reman high for the team after the factors they had to overcome.
Head Coach Jorge Cabral Pasillas is choosing to remain confident on the future of the season after this tough cross-town rival game. “There was a lot of factors in that game, we were missing one of our captains our centerback, and our backup centerbacks were a little bit injury prone. And our starting goal keeper was out as well,” he stated
Cabral continued, “I was talking with my assistant coach about this and we did get a lot of good things out of this… I wouldn’t say I was dissapointed in how we played, but overall we can use this opportunity to reflect on how we played and prepare for future games.”
Alonso Villanueva-Coronado, the starting goal keeper who was injured during this game relfected on his replacement’s preformance during the game. “Sebastian (Villalobos Perez) played pretty alright. He let some things in and definitely made some mistakes, but when we have our full goalkeeping staff back we will be in good hands.”
Varsity defender Isaac De La Paz thinks the whole team was out of it this game and thinks that they can prove they are better than that. “It was pretty bad, there wasnt any energy in the team when we played and it just seemed like the whole team’s head was out of the game,” De La Paz stated.
