After coming off a strong regular season the Greeley West girl’s softball team is headed to the post-season. Finishing off 18-5 and averaging over 10 runs per game this team looks dominant and players on the team feel strong too heading in to the postseason with a good seed placement to start regionals strong.
“Being a school that’s not really expected to make playoffs has really made our bond strong this season,” said Iyanna Martinez. “Going into the postseason we are confident, and we got a really good seeding for where we are at and who we are playing. As long as we keep the team bond tight and continue to practice hard we’ll be just fine,”
“The team’s performance this year has been awesome, they’ve really dominated in all aspects of the game,” coach Hannah Rivera stated. “Ending the season 18-5 in the league that we’re in shows that these girls are competitive and they are ready to take their preparation and their talent into this weekend at regionals.”
“We have to win two games this weekend to qualify for state, but I do feel confident that we will be able to compete and hold our own and walk away with our heads held high after getting two wins,” Rivera said.
