With yearbook deadlines fast approaching, seniors at Greeley West rushed to submit their senior photos as well as quotes. Many students are aiming for the perfect shot to capture their personalities and passions in what will be their final high school yearbook.
Yearbook advisors note that while some students planned ahead, others waited until the last minute. “Some people haven’t been utilizing the amount of time they’ve been given” says Ermiyas Tesfasellasie the assistant chief editor. “And so you see Mr. Madrid and the main editors constantly having to remind people to stay on task.”
Senior Lorenzo Hernandez says that he felt pressured to make his quote unique and stand out. “It’s something I’m going to look back at for the rest of my life, so I definitely felt some pressure, but I feel like I did pretty good,” Hernandez said.
He also made sure to deal with his quote and photo before the deadline, “I didn’t have to worry last minute,” Hernandez added.
However senior Antonio Banda chose not to submit a senior picture or quote saying, “That’s just not my style.” But he still feels it’s important other seniors do because it’s something “about the seniors.”
