U.S. vs. World format will help Olympic Games
August 31, 2016
In past Olympic games the U.S.A has proved their dominance to all the other countries by usually finishing with several more medals in front of second place. In the last games held in Rio, the U.S finished with 121 medals while Great Britain finished with a mere 67 medals for second place.
With how often the U.S. sweeps first place, switching the Olympic games to U.S.A vs. the World wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Proven with past year wins, the U.S is clearly way ahead of the game compared to any other competitors.
The U.S has a total medal count of 2,520 and 1,022 of those medals are gold. The Soviet Union is still in second place when the last time they competed was 1988 and have 1,010 medals. That should be enough proof that no one else is nearly competing enough for the U.S. The only country still competing is Great Britain in third place for total medals with only 847 medals. No currently competing countries are even close to the U.S in medals.
The U.S would easily compete against the world in the Olympic games, they would probably even still come out with a dominate win.
