Students hope to earn college credit through tests

From May 1 to May 12, Greeley West students will take an AP or IB test each day.  There are two tests scheduled each day and testing will happen in two locations. The first location is FMS Bank across from the south entrance of the school. The second location is the Greeley Wesleyan Church.

For many students this is a big day. The AP tests are graded on a 5-point scale and the IB tests are graded on a 7-point scale. If the student gets a 3 on AP exam, there is a great chance for that student to get college credit. Senior Ryan Rojas is taking two AP tests: AP Statistics and AP Human Geography.  Rojas stated, “Getting college credit is a big deal because it could save you a lot of money.”

Along with Rojas there are many other students hoping to pass the test to gain college credit. Junior Peyton Whittaker took the AP Physics 1 test, which is known to be one of the toughest tests you could take, on Tuesday. Whittaker stated, “I am hoping to get a three on the test. I have studied pretty hard and I am looking forward to get the test over with.”
