In the senior’s final home game, the Greeley West volleyball team was one set away from a three-set sweep against Mountain Range, leaving the Spartans with high hope to come out with a win. But the Spartans folded after a third-set loss, failing to capitalize after their quick start.  West ended the match losers, 3-2 and left the court with no hope of a playoff appearance.

Seniors Ashtyn Egan, Kelsey Story, Allie Wakkinen, Raquel Dennis, Ryan Maddera, Hannah Emerson, and Marsela Martinez left it all out on the court for their final home game in front of friends and family.  Memories and emotions will be shared for weeks before each girls chooses their next path in life whether it be volleyball or the continuation of their education.

First year head coach Sasha Cohoon, was grateful for being a part of such a core group of seniors. Cohoon stated, “Thank you for letting me be a part of your senior year. I’m excited for all you to continue your volleyball aspirations, and thank you for sticking by my side all year. You’ve taught me a lot. I’ll miss you.”

The game is not West’s final match of the season.  West plays one more conference match before the Spartans travel to Greeley Central for a match next Thursday.
