Greeley West’s girls volleyball team wrapped up the season during Thursday’s non-conference game against rival school Greeley Central with a 3-1 loss. With a full house in the Wildcats’ gymnasium for both sides, the Spartans struggled getting started losing their first set 25-19.  They answered back with a comeback of 25-21 for the second set.

As the Spartans fought hard during the third set struggling to keep their serves in taking a tough but close loss of 25-22 and then the Spartans began to fall behind in the fourth set leading to the final set with a score of 25-15.

“Overall this year I had fun even though we didn’t do that good,” senior Hannah Emmerson said. “Individually we had the talent; we just didn’t have good team chemistry and I think that hurt us a lot this year as we struggled to compete.”

The Spartans are losing six Spartans this year leaving a lot of shoes to fill and for people stepping up next year to improve on making the team better.
