As of last Friday, the bathrooms next to the entrance to the gym were closed due to major vandalism. Security monitors Rudi Danford, Ronette Smith, and Roni Melton described the destruction in both bathrooms, male and female, as broken doors, torn down paper towel dispensers, and extreme graffiti.

Students and faculty alike are upset over the bathroom closure. Assistant Principal Ms. Amy Zulauf said she is, “saddened and disappointed in the students who destroyed school property.”

The closure of the bathrooms will have a major impact on students, decreasing the number of female bathrooms down to eight stalls, and the male restroom down to five urinals and four stalls. This creates an approximate 1:100 ratio of toilets to female students, a 1:160 ratio of urinals to male students, and 1:200 ratio of toilets to male students.

As of now there are no plans to reopen the bathrooms.
