Election results are product of bad system

“One nation, under God.” This is a line from the Pledge of Allegiance that every person in America has become accustomed to hearing every single day.

But are we really one nation? We will never be one nation with this current two-party system of Republicans and Democrats. We live in a society where you are ridiculed for identifying with a certain party. This is the main reason our nation has become more divided than most of the other democracies in the world.

One of the Founding Fathers of this country, James Madison, stated in Federalist Paper Number 10 that factions will tear this country apart. Some Americans have become so blinded by the letter next to the name, they no longer vote for someone because they have researched their views and goals.

People are constantly slamming and getting slammed by others for simply affiliating with one side. How are we supposed to get along if all we do is hate on each other? It is impossible to be united like this. Both political parties think they have the right ideas about what is best for our country. Most of the time, those views aren’t even that far apart.

Take for instance President-Elect Donald Trump’s policy on rebuilding the inner-cities through infrastructure programs. This has always been a Democratic idea.
In the end, what does it matter who you voted for and why you voted for them? You don’t have to agree with someone, but don’t put them down because they don’t see the way you see it.

At the end of the day the left wing and the right wing are attached to the same bird.
