The Greeley West Spartan High school cheerleading team took first place in their annual Winter Blast competition they hosted this past weekend. They competed in the co-ed division against the Greeley Central Wildcats and the Mountain View Lions.

This is their second first place of the year, following their league championship earlier this month. It has been a great start to the season for them.

They won with a score of 79 and the runner up Mountain View had a score of 69 and Central finished in third with a 53. They were scored on tumbling, jumps, technique, cheering, and stunting.

Junior Captain Melissa Mack said,  “We have been working so hard trying to improve our technique and rhythm. The younger girls and boys have really stepped it up for us.”

The Spartans now will prepare for State early next month.
