Students share Christmas traditions

Christmas is just around the corner and it is a very popular and loved holiday. Every family does some type of tradition and celebrates Christmas in some type of way, outside the fact of getting of getting presents under your tree. Traditions are things families love to do and would never trade that tradition for anything.

One tradition involved food.  Junior Ariel Flores said, “My mom makes homemade tamales and homemade apple juice. The main tradition is food and being around my family. My parents have to work so me and my bro will spend the whole day together watching football.”

Junior Oscar Flores enjoys the food too, but doesn’t just spend time with his family.  “I spend my whole day with my family opening presents and eating my mom’s homemade food, then later I’ll go hangout with a couple of my friends. Christmas is a time to be with your loved ones, and that what I do for my tradition,” Flores commented.

Freshman Chase Spangler’s family highlight is his father.  “My dad wears a Santa hat all day and acts like he is Santa. Other than that we open presents and watch football. We spend the day pretty laid back,“ Spangler said.
