Accepted: Students recognized on announcements for being college-bound

Every morning, student body President Juliet Cha reads the announcements. Announcements are usually the same every day but If you tuned in today you heard something different. Cha announced five students who were accepted into college. Their plan is to announce five students a day.

The person behind the announcements is Principal Jeff Cranson. Cranson’s plan is to announce every single senior who gets accepted into a college this year. They aren’t only announcing the students who got accepted to big colleges; they are recognizing every single student going to college. No matter what college you get accepted to you can get recognized during the announcements.

To get recognized, you have to do one of the following: Tell your counselor what college you got accepted to or post it to the official Greeley West Facebook or Twitter accounts.

Senior Kaleb Vannest got accepted into the Colorado School of Mines, a tough school to get in to. He was recognized today during the announcements. Vannest stated, “It was cool to hear my name on announcements. I think it’s a cool way recognize seniors getting accepted.”

This will go on all year or until they run out of names to announce.
