The Greeley West wrestling team picked up another win against the Westminster Wolves Wednesday night at home. The dual victory makes the Spartans 7-1 in dual matches to start the year.

It was a brisk dual, only taking the Spartans 45 minutes to beat the Wolves 64-10. The Spartans absolutely dominated the mats from start to finish. It is hard to lose a dual when your team goes above .500 in the individual win column, and that is exactly what the Spartans did. Spartan wrestlers managed to win ten out of the thirteen total matches giving them a winning percentage of .769, more than enough to get the job done.

When asked how does this blowout victory affect the you guys headed into the heart of the season, senior Michael Gutierrez stated, “We have to be confident like we were today in every match and keep fighting no matter how easy or hard it gets.”

Gutierrez was a helping part in this blowout by crushing his opponent with a score of 17-2.

The Spartans are headed into the annual Christmas tournament, held at the Budweiser Events Center this weekend, looking to making an impact.
