This year’s Teen Job Fair is coming soon. On Wednesday, March 8, students between the ages of 14 and 21 who are looking for employment in Greeley and the surrounding areas are invited to Island Grove Event Center from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The fair is free, but students should bring their social security numbers and dress nicely. Students can preregister online at connectingcolorado.com.
Senior Michael Gutierrez went to the job fair last year and got a job at The Rodarte Center’s “fun in the sun” program. Gutierrez recommends the job fair because there is a variety of options and it’s much easier than walking into places and asking for applications. Gutierrez got his job by going to the fair and the interview process.
The teen job fair gives an opportunity to work and gain work experience. Most of the people applying never had a real job before. Some jobs that hire throughout the program are, The Greeley Icehaus, parks and recreation (t ball and golf course), Greeley museums and Wing Shack.
Gutierrez said,” I enjoyed my summer job because I got to work with different kids and meet new coworkers, I gained experience in youth enrichment as well. All around it was fun and I got to do a lot of things throughout the summer.”
