Spartans drop Rangers in swimming dual

On Tuesday April 11, boys swimming faced Mountain Range in a Front Range League match up at the Greeley Recreation Center. The Spartans won 106-64.

They won nine of the 11 individual events. Sophomore Nathan Kenigsburg won the 200- yard individual medley with a time of 2 minutes and 9 seconds, placing first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.36, Class 5A state-qualifying time. Senior Matthew Kenigsburg won the 50 freestyle (23.43). Jackson Wuthrich won the 200 free (1:51.28) and the 500 freestyle (5:02.06, also a state-qualifying time.) Baylor Cobb had a first-place time of 53.14 in the 100 freestyle. Mike Rutledge also won the 100 breaststroke (1:09.34).

The Spartans 200 freestyle relay consisting of Matthew Kenigsburg, Baylor Cobb, Mike Rutledge, and Jackson Wuthrich had a state qualifying time in their race on Tuesday (1:36.50). West’s team of Owen Spooner, Nathan Kenigsburg, Jackson Wuthrich and Wyatt Sands won the 400 free-style relay (3:35.09).
